Click on images to see the full set Wedding Photographer in DubaiSo yeah.....Dubai. All i can say is what a place !!. Having been to the middle east several times previous....it was a first to cover a wedding there. While out there, I took in some sights and did some photography near the Burj al Arab and Marina Bay. Destination weddings are becoming more popular in the Asian communities. (Yes, that's me above taking selfies with a heavy DSLR...and several shots of the liquid kind)
So I initially made contact with the couple in West London. They were looking for a wedding photographer to fly out to Dubai, and shoot their marriage abroad. So I took down their requirements and provided a quote for them, which was very affordable and within their budget. I did have to include additional costs as I was taking my equipment also, and typically airlines charge extra for baggage allowance. One of the most important questions was how experienced I was as a photographer, which my portfolio helped a great deal in providing them with confidence they were choosing the right person and not some amateur inexperienced photographer which is not what you need. And you can read about the problems this can cause here So a couple of days before the wedding, I am boarding the plane, fully kitted out for any situation that arises whilst in Dubai. I had done a lot of research before-hand, and understood the laws and guidelines Dubai has when it comes to Photography for weddings. When you get off the plane in Dubai, the first thing that hits you is the heat. It is hot. A dry air type of hot, which is a bit difficult to get used to for some time. So going a couple of days prior helps acclimatize to the environment, as with all photographers...we have to carry our lenses, DSLR's, strobes and all the accessories when on shoot. So this can get tiring, very quickly. 1 Hour working in Dubai heat, is equivalent to 3hrs work in the UK. So, once at the hotel, all kit arranged, batteries charged and fully ready to take on the Wedding in Dubai. The bride and Groom were amazing. They really knew how to have a good time, and I think I managed to get some amazing photography for them, which to this day, they still send messages saying how they go back to the wedding album and remember their special wedding celebration. Doing wedding photography in Dubai is challenging also. I had to use my ND filters during the day, and strobe lights at night. The heat is incredible, so can tire you out quicker than usual. However, once the media was in the hands of my clients.....They have since, been recommending me to their friends and family ever since. And this makes me feel privaleged and humbled that my work and services at Amar G Media have ensured my clients happiness on one of the most important days of their lives. When it comes down to my clients choosing me over other professional photographers...it was not about my price list for weddings, but the experience and personality to allows the clients to be comfortable when on shoot locations. I cannot disclose the amount they invested, but you can read about wedding photography prices here if you wish.
